Stewart hits the ground swimming."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/newscreen.richardlohr.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/w3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1722\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">To quote IndieWire&#8217;s David Ehrlich once more: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#5cadd1\">&#8220;There isn\u2019t a single millisecond of this movie that doesn\u2019t bristle with the raw energy of an artist who\u2019s found the permission she needed to put her whole being into every frame, messy and shattered as that might be.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He nailed it with that one sentence, and yes, it was messy and shattered&#8230; at times difficult to watch (we had one walk-out tonight), but Kristen Stewart&#8217;s astounding debut was marked by powerful in-your-face cinematography and moored by Imogen Poots&#8217; tremendous performance &#8211; her career-to-date best IMHO &#8211; and, for that matter, just a great cast all around. Jim Belushi as Ken Kesey FFS! I can&#8217;t help but wonder whether Stewart was &#8220;helping out&#8221; some actor friends.
